| Description: | The Research Office is pleased to announce a 7-part training series on Thursday, January 22, 2009 to be held at Clayton Hall. After much discussion with UD Financials users on the campus and the surveys from last year's all-day session, the following topics rose to the top and will be addressed at this training:
Registration: 8:30-9:00 am (Lobby) MORNING SESSIONS -- 9:00-10:15 am and 10:30-11:45 am (groups will select from concurrent sessions and rotate among Rooms 119, 120 and 125) Room 119: Compliance Updates This session will focus on recent changes in research compliance, both regulatory and procedurally at the University of Delaware. Included will be NIH changes including the GWAS data sharing requirement, the PubMed central repository requirement and copyright, and the requirement for registration for all clinical trials as well as updates on the NSF requirement for formal mentoring. Upcoming changes in the procedures for obtaining Material Transfer Agreements and Export Controls will also be discussed. Room 120: Subawards.com This session will review how to import proposal subawards to CAYUSE and how collaborators can use subawards.com to prepare subaward documents. Subawards.com is a hosted service of Cayuse, Inc., maker of Cayuse424. Subawards.com presents a Web-based and visually accurate version of the SF 424 RR Budget form. Subawards.com may be used by any subcontractor preparing subaward information for inclusion with prime proposals destined for submission to Grants.gov. Room 125: Effort Certification This session will review Effort Certification basics as well as some new enhancements to the electronic certification system. Updates from a recent internal audit and the ongoing NSF effort audit will be shared. LUNCH -- 11:45 am - 1:15 pm: Complimentary lunch with presentation from keynote speaker (Room 101A). AFTERNOON SESSIONS -- 1:30-2:45 pm and 3:00-4:15 pm (groups will select from concurrent sessions and rotate among Rooms 119, 120 and 125) Room 119: Conflict of Interest What is conflict of interest?
