MORNING SESSIONS -- 9:00-10:15 am and 10:30-11:45 am (groups will select from concurrent sessions and rotate among Rooms 119, 120 and 125)

Room 119: Compliance Updates This session will focus on recent changes in research compliance, both regulatory and procedurally at the University of Delaware. Included will be NIH changes including the GWAS data sharing requirement, the PubMed central repository requirement and copyright, and the requirement for registration for all clinical trials as well as updates on the NSF requirement for formal mentoring. Upcoming changes in the procedures for obtaining Material Transfer Agreements and Export Controls will also be discussed.

Room 120: Subawards.com This session will review how to import proposal subawards to CAYUSE and how collaborators can use subawards.com to prepare subaward documents. Subawards.com is a hosted service of Cayuse, Inc., maker of Cayuse424. Subawards.com presents a Web-based and visually accurate version of the SF 424 RR Budget form. Subawards.com may be used by any subcontractor preparing subaward information for inclusion with prime proposals destined for submission to Grants.gov.

Room 125: Effort Certification This session will review Effort Certification basics as well as some new enhancements to the electronic certification system. Updates from a recent internal audit and the ongoing NSF effort audit will be shared.

AFTERNOON SESSIONS -- 1:30-2:45 pm and 3:00-4:15 pm (groups will select from concurrent sessions and rotate among Rooms 119, 120 and 125)

Room 119: Conflict of Interest What is conflict of interest? What are some common ways that it presents itself? Things you should know.

Room 120: Ninety Days: Fact or Fiction? - 1:30-2:45 pm
This session will review award management responsibilities and closeout deadlines. We will also take a look at the timeliness of cost transfers and why we care.

Room 120: QMQs: Tools for Managing Contracts and Grants -- 3:00-4:15 pm
An overview of grant management queries available in the UD Financial system with suggestions on which queries can help you in the day-to-day financial management of sponsored projects. Time will be allotted for questions and open discussion.

Room 125: Cayuse Training -- This is one session scheduled to span both time slots (1:30-2:45 pm and 3:00-4:15 pm).
The University has contracted with Cayuse, a hosted Web solution created specifically for Grants.gov and the complex federal grant proposal process. The Research Office is excited about this offering and looks forward to sharing it with you. This tool will expedite, organize and streamline proposal development and submission to Grants.gov. Use of the CAYUSE tool will be required for all grants.gov submissions by January 2009.
